Pizzeria Taormina

I loved it! It's like being at an uncle's house, where he wants to make his family happy. The pizzas are authentic. I'll gladly go back.

January 2026: Near Place de la Liberté and its parking lots, this is the kitschiest pizzeria in Toulon, the kind that would have fit right in with the Little Italy of The Godfather. I love the decor, the welcome, the atmosphere, the comfortable tables, the aromas of freshly baked pizzas... and especially the excellent pizzas! And I always prefer well-executed classics; the simpler it looks, the better it tastes. Going without a simple weekly pizza, like the Capricciozza, is practically a crime, especially when it comes to those "made in Taormina"! January 2024: It's always a pleasure to come and enjoy an excellent pizza baked in the wood-fired oven of this Italian institution. I recommend the Atomica. I have a real soft spot for the Capriciosa. They're crispy, perfectly cooked, and generous. Don't hesitate to ask the pizza chef for advice.

We stopped by chance before a show at the Zénith and were very pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was cozy and unique, the staff warm and welcoming, and the wood-fired pizzas delicious! We felt right at home in this inviting setting. We'll be back.

Very good pizza

A supposedly Italian pizzeria... You'd expect to find basic specialties like risotto, ossobuco, vitello tonnato, gnocchi, arancini, fritto misto: nothing of the sort on the menu... No antipasti either, but a Greek salad?!? The cheese used for the pizzas: Gruyère!!! Where's the fior di latte mozzarella or buffalo mozzarella??? I found my pizza completely tasteless, and it was expensive for the meager toppings. Those who claim these are the best pizzas in Toulon... Uh... Do you own shares in the restaurant? Do you usually eat Picard pizzas? Is Flunch a gourmet restaurant for you? Did you just come from the dentist and your palate is still numb??? The outdated decor is piled up (collection of ashtrays, Ricard jugs) in a tiny, overheated room (with an oven and no air conditioning) where you are crammed together; claustrophobes beware!
