A very pleasant surprise, a real treat, and impeccable service. The terrace is lovely, shaded, and naturally ventilated. I highly recommend it for enjoyable lunches!

Generous portions and pleasant service

A very pleasant surprise! I was on a layover in Toulon on my way back from Majorca, and I took the opportunity to visit the Royal Tower. But walking in the blazing sun, dragging my suitcase and backpack, I arrived at the restaurant drenched in sweat. The owner very kindly allowed me to change in the restroom and use an outlet to recharge my nearly dead phone. She and her waitress were very attentive and both had lovely smiles. In addition, the food was excellent, and the menu is updated very regularly. We chatted a bit, indulging my natural curiosity. It was a little above my usual budget, but well worth it. I wish the young waitress all the best in her new career, as she is already very professional.

An original menu for the eyes and the taste buds.

We have been to this restaurant 5 or 6 times and it has been good, but our dinner this evening was deeply disappointing. The starter was great, the wine was good and our main courses - a pluma of pork and an aubergine and tuna burger sounded amazing. Both were served lukewarm and we asked the server who whisked the plates off as if it was our fault, returning them a few minutes later very hot but otherwise unchanged. My tuna was overcooked and had a strong fishy taste, the polenta chips were dry and brittle. My wife's pluma of pork was good in parts but not great. The server asked how our meal was but then did not want to hear that we were not happy, saying that nobody else had complained so implying that we were either wrong, or difficult, or both. Diagreable and we won't be back.

A delightful discovery! Vitello tonnato and caponata prepared with quality ingredients and presented with originality. The ballotine with creamy polenta was very flavorful. The raspberry crème brûlée was perfect. Exquisite Italian specialties at a reasonable price in a charming setting (and spotless restrooms). The staff is attentive. I highly recommend it.
